French writer Annie Ernaux was awarded the 2022 Nobel Prize in Literature “for the courage and clinical acuity with which she uncovers the roots, estrangements and collective restraints of personal memory”.
The next edition of the scholarship programme for writers, poets, literary translators, critics, essayists, and journalists from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary is open for applications from 15 September to 15 October 2022.
The translation of Tadeusz Borowski's short stories has been included in the longlist of translations nominated for the prestigious National Translation Award granted by the American Literary Translators Association (ALTA). The author of the translation is Madeline G. Levine, a winner of Found in Translation Award for her translation of Bruno Schulz.
